Kefir is a fermented milk-based drink with a refreshing flavor that is obtained with the aid of a kefir or kefir grain culture. It is believed to be native to Caucasus and is up to 1000 years old. The locals of the Caucasus are known for their longevity and good health, living almost without illness, which many say is connected to their daily and unlimited consumption of kefir.
One of the most famous Sarajevo and Bosnian dairy drinks is, of course, a kefir made by several domestic dairy companies with a different recipe as well as several foreign ones. Milokos Sarajevo's kefir is certainly a regionaly famous brand.
