„Walter defends Sarajevo“ is a film museum dedicated to the glorious action movie by Hajrudim Šiba Krvavac, located in Sarajevo Film Center, in the city center, near the Markale Market.
Movie is a story aboud Vladimir Valter Perić, the hero of the resistance movement in Sarajevo occupied by Nazi forces during the World War II. Walter was killed just hours before the city was finally liberated, defending the city's then-main power plant..
„Walter defends Sarajevo“ is one of the most popular movies produced ion socialist Yugoslavia, with movie legends Velimir „Bata“ Živojinović, Ljubiša Samardžić, Rade Marković, Dragomir Gidra Bojanić, Relja Bašić and others. This movie is a cult work from that historical period and one of the symbols of the city of Sarajevo.
The museum is an attractive combination of wax figures, stage reconstructions from the movie, video and audio multimedia, with rich documentation of this cult movie and the historical background on which the movie was based on.
