Restoran Chef Alisah's European and Bosnian Cuisine is the best in Tucson, Arizona!

Restauran Chef Alisah's European and Bosnian Cuisine takes a strong first place on popular  tourists websites Yelp, TripAdvisor and UrbanSpon among 1653 restaurants in Tucson, Arizona. Few days ago, the biggest star of the American culinary TV Guy Fieri declared it the best in the city. He was a guest of the restaurant for two days, filmed the show for national television, which will be broadcast in early March. The owner and chef of the restaurant Ahmet Ališah cooked for Fieria for two hours in front of the cameras, saying that it was an icing on the cake for him.

In november 2008. Ahmet and his wife Halida opened their restaurant Chef Alisah's. „ We invited about 100 guests, Bosnians and Americans, to the opening and private party. My wife and I cooked everything; sarma, ćevapi, pies, stew, meats, lamb, halva, gurabija... Guests came regularly- most of them were Bosnians, they came to gave us advices, why that, not this, everyone had something to say. That lasted for some time, than the gossip started; my ćevapi are bad, burned, small, my pie is expencive... . I was experiencing all this from Bosnians and others from former Yugoslavia, but we were working, silent and suffering, smiling with a plastic smile... But business was going bad, almost not at all. The weekend was solid, and on working days it was one step forward, two steps back, and so on, "Ahmet recalls.

After exactly two years, the job began to increase, and there were more guests  every day. "It became a little easier, Halida, our son Emir and me could finaly breathe a little earier. We worked every day for 13 or 14 hours, exactly 965 days without a free day or a break. The reporters heard about us, interviewed us and published the story in the newspapers: that we are hard working for being 965 days without rest, in a city that has a million inhabitants. Even more guests came in the following days, wanting to take a picture, pinching me to see if I'm ok, working 965 days without rest. "

Soon, the American Army command ordered food from the restaurant, a special lunch for 250 people. Congressman Gabriel Giford ordered a lunch for 150 people from them as part of her election campaign. Little by little, every year the business is getting bigger, visits and daily earnings grow. There are journalists coming to the restaurant, giving acknowledgments, thanks...  After 965 business days without a break, they take one free day in the week, Monday. And it's like that today.

Their menu offers over 40 types of food every day: meatballs, cabbage rolls, goulash, lamb, chicken, steak, Wiener schnitzel, a variety of pies, doner, bean, tufahije, tiramisu, sugarfree fruit balls ...

"Americans eat everything, mostly ćevapi, it is a wonder how much they love and adore ćevapi. Every 10 days, I make about 3,000 pieces, because often they buy them fresh, and then grill them at home or in the park. They love the mixed grill, goulash, stuffed cabbage rolls, doner kebab, Bosnian Pot ... baklava, tufahije and hurmašice. "
