ARIZONA: Antelope Canyon

Antelope Canyon is located in Arizona near the town of Page. Most of the tourist tours in America do not include a visit to the Antelope Canyon, and that's exactly why I decided to visit it.
We came to the canyon after a four-hour drive from Las Vegas (Nevada). And the real pleasure was the change from the Nevada desert to Arizona's greenery sights. There are two clans. An interesting rock is the upper plaza or as the Navajo Indians call it "Where Water Flows Through the Rocks". Navajo Indians live there with a certain kind of autonomy - semi-autonomy- they have their own court, school...
The main center is the town of Page where you can see a lot of them. The canyon can only be visited with guided escorts and at times when there is no rain because the it may sink very rapidly, which happened in 1997 and led to the death of 11 tourists.
There are two possibilities for a tour of the canyon, the first is the shorter tour that lasts for about an hour. The second option is a tour for photographers and lasts about two and a half hours. Our guide was a young Indian, very kind, who explained to us that in the past, the Indians used the canyon as a hiding place to escape in front of the white conquerors and in the quieter times as a place where they crawled the cattle during the winter.
The canyon is interesting for the unusual shapes that water has made throughout the ages and at all times of the day looks different depending on the sun's position at that time of the day. It is very narrow, so in some places you can touch it on both sides at the same time and some places it is even narrower.
