The deal to go to Sarajevo has finally been made! Boyfriend and I decided to visit a few friends who stayed with us in Zagreb last year. We went to the bus station in Zagreb, about 11 o'clock in the evening. The trip lasted about 8 hours, and it was pretty hard. When we arrived at the station, our friends were already waiting. I could hardly wait to get out of the bus and start touring this old and picturesque city. Denis (my boyfriend) was of course hungry as soon as we got out of the bus, so our first stop was a local snack bar, where we ate sandwiches. By the way, I was taking photos of everything; churches, buildings, people ... There were no major problems with the accommodation, because we stayed with our dear friend Adi. He welcomed us well and we thank him very much for that!

We planned to stay for 2-3 days. On the first day, we met people, and we could hardly wait to try those famous Sarajevo ćevapčići! We decided to go to a really good restaurant. It's not that I advertise, but it's called "Hodzic", on Bascarsija, of course, as well as 90% of all ćevabdžinicas. A modest ambience awaited us, but everything smelled so nice all over the street. We sat down at the tables and ordered. They were an excellent, in big folded bun, filled with 10 juicy ćevapi (not like the ones we eat here in Zagreb, full baking soda), but rather pure meat. Of course, besides them, a bowl of onion and kajmak is also served, if desired, and of course, if you eat onion or kajmak before the cloves, the waiter will gladly bring you another bowl, and you will not be charged! We sat there for half an hour after we ate, because we were not able to move immediately after that meal. The bill surprised us, it was much cheaper than we expected.

After a big dinner, we decided to take a walk around Sarajevo, and perhaps see the nightlife of the city. Unfortunately, it was a week day, so we could go only play pool in one of the bars, but it was fun! It was enough for one day, so we decided to go to sleep.

As soon as we woke up we were hungry, but we were a little lazy, and everything was so cheap, we just could not have breakfast at home, and we went to a little restaurant and ordered pancakes. Oh God, I did not eat such pancakes anywhere else! Two huge pancakes, filled with nutella and walnuts, sprinkled with walnuts and decorated with whipped cream, were so large that their edges literally fell from the plate and dragged on the table. It was just too much for my stomach, so Denis finished what was left.

That day we had planned to visit one of the markets in Sarajevo, we wanted to see what was offered. It was really everything, from clothing, footwear, cell phones, to tomatoes and peppers. I have not seen so many choice for a long time, and that was only one small market :) For today we planned to go to the city and ride in the trolleybus, and later go to the viewpoint  to see Sarajevo from the height. While we were waiting for the trolleybus, of course, we were taking pictures of everything around us, and so two policeman in a car come to us, apparently by informed by a tenant. They get out of the car and say that they got a message that we are taking pictures there, and that there is a delegation near by .. whoops! Of course, we did not have a clue that we were close to the delegation, let alone that we could not take pictures, of course, we explained that we were from Zagreb, that we came as tourists and that we were photographing everything, but while they were checking our documents took, 3 trolleybuses went by. And so Adi decided to ask them for transportation to the center. It was a bit embarrassing and weird, asking the police to drive us to the center, but if they want, why not!

I was pleasantly surprised when they invited us to enter the car and they would take us. We talked a bit while we were driving, and I found out that one of them often came to Zagreb, shopped in King's Cross and it was all very nice to me. We were thankful for the ride and greeted them, and they wished us a pleasant stay. They were just an example of what policemen should be. That evening we decided to just stroll the old town, and we enjoyed every step.

For the next day they announced high temperatures, we thought about what we could do, and I remembered to ask Adi if there is a pool, spa or something nearby. He said that they were Terme Ilidza, but he never went there because he did not hear the very best about the place. Since it was really hot, we passed over what he said and decided to go anyway. God, I have not seen such a thing for a long time. If you've ever been in Cateza or Tuheljska Spa, you'll know what I'm talking about. Friendly staff and not so expensive tickets, they welcomed us at the reception; We left stuff in the closets and started swimming. WOW, you should see it (I'm sorry I did not wear my camera), there are huge pools, beautifully landscaped, artificial palm trees, rocks, lighthouses, slides, trampolines, waves pool, jacuzzis, everything you can imagine. Something wonderful. We enjoyed it all afternoon, and we did not feel sorry we went. That evening we went for pizza (we were wondering how was it in Sarajevo) and we were not disappointed. I just can not explain how kind, dear, helpful and polite people were. You will not experience something like this in Croatia, especially not on these prices. We also came to the viewpoint, what a look, something beautiful, we passed by beside the Muslim cemetery, their grave stones are incredible. Everything was white.

The next day was a time to return home, and since our train was only around noon, we had time to do some more stuff. We went to a shopping mall and visited the fair, something similar to Zagreb's Heliel. There, we "killed" hour or two and slowly headed for the station. We greeted our dear friends and sat in the train, a journey of  9 to 10 hours was waiting for us for. We were tired, but we were not sorry for a second. I can hardly wait for the next opportunity to pick up my bags and go to Sarajevo!
