In a week's time, the Austrian Embassy in BiH, this year as well, will organize the Austrian Ball at the Sarajevo City Hall.

“It will be an opportunity for the admirers of this event to enjoy a versatile program, even richer than last year's ball. For the first time, a military orchestra from Carinthia (Austria) will perform at the ball,” said in an interview with FENA a member of the Austrian Ball Organizing Committee, Vildana Lončarić.

Sarajevo is among the 15 cities in the world that hosts this event. The City Hall will open its doors for the visitors and guests at 20.00, and the official program will begin at 21.00 hrs.

In addition to the central podium, which is intended for the waltz, other rooms in the City Hall will also be available to participants and guests of the ball.

“We have envisaged that each hall is used for certain kind of dance so that participants and guests can enjoy a true dance experience. They can practice their dance steps in the rooms for tango, salsa or disco dancing. This is certainly another novelty that we have introduced into the program of this year's event,” emphasized Lončarić.

She is also happy that the ballet group of the Sarajevo National Theater, as well as the folklore group from Salzburg, will perform in the City Hall, along with the performance of the renowned Wiener Opernball Orchester.

“All participants will have the opportunity to taste a variety of drinks, and for the first time, we will have wines from Styria. This year as well, exactly on midnight, we will dance the quadrilla," said Lončarić.

She added that the tickets can be purchased by May 11, adding that the price for members of dance clubs, students and pensioners is 50 KM.

“In addition to the Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka, the honorary sponsor of the ball, representatives from Vienna and Graz will also take part in the ball who are also the sponsors of the event, said a member of the Organizing Committee of the Austrian Ball in Sarajevo, Vildana Lončarić.
