During a visit to the Zenica-Doboj Canton, the Municipality of Vareš and the City of Zenica, the British Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edward Ferguson, today was hosted by the Zenica Mayor Fuad Kasumović, with whom he talked about the implementation of the project for attracting foreign investments.

LIFE project manager for attracting investments and improving the business environment at the local level Ruvejda Aliefendić, who is the representative of the development institution at the World Bank office in Sarajevo, also participated in the meeting.

After the meeting, Mayor Kasumović said that these were public administration reform programs, with special emphasis on city services, and that significant changes are expected to be carried out under the motto the "guillotine of regulations" in the continuation of the LIFE project.

"Our ultimate goal is to completely eliminate some procedures and significantly reduce the others with the help of the World Bank, in order to help both citizens and businesses," said Mayor Kasumović.

Ambassador Ferguson said he was glad to hear that the local city administration was ready to implement the "guillotine of regulations", which is truly the correct term for significant changes in favor of companies and businesses, especially companies that are just starting their business, but also for those companies that work in difficult conditions to develop their activities faster.

"I expect that at the FBiH level, the activities on the adoption of appropriate laws and amendments will follow, which will ultimately lead to the possibility of 'online registration' of new companies or their changes," said Mr. Ferguson.
