The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Bosnia and Herzegovina today organized a reception and an exhibition of paintings "The Power of Our Women" by author Birsen Ceken and a mini-concert, marking the International Women's Day.

Pinar Koc, the wife of Turkish Ambassador to BiH Haldun Koc, said that the Turkish Embassy wanted to highlight the role of women through the history of Turkey and other communities through today's gathering and the exhibition.

"We are happy that this year we are celebrating 8 March in the company of numerous dignitaries, as well as many women from Turkey and BiH. Today's event is greater because we managed to organize the arrival of the famous Turkish artist, academician, and professor Birsen Cekan, whose works are exhibited today," Koc said.

The author of the exhibition, Birsen Ceken, came to Sarajevo twice with art colonies and, as she says, her love for BiH and its beauties began back then.

"My love for Bosnia continues, so I was happy to respond to the invitation of the Turkish ambassador to this exhibition to take part in this event. These works have been specially selected for the Women's Day; women are the main motive in these paintings," said Ceken.

She added that the paintings show the women of the Black Sea region displayed during various day-to-day tasks.

"These women are industrial workers, heroines and they are the most common motive of my works," concluded the artist.
