The 45th edition of Gradačac Plum Fair opened today

The International Fair of Agriculture and Food Industry known as the "Plum Fair", featuring 320 exhibitors, opened today in Gradačac.
In the presence of numerous officials, exhibitors and citizens of Gradacac, the High Representative in BiH, Valentin Inzko, State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Croatia, Tugomir Majdak, and Prime Minister of the Tuzla Canton, Jakub Suljkanović, cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony.
As the Gradačac Fair announced, numerous exhibitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region will present their products at about 5,000 square meters of space.
High Representative Valentin Inzko pointed out that Gradačac is a city of successful and well-known people and that it is currently the center of the whole region known for plum and food production.
“The Gradačac Plum Fair is a completely trendy event when it comes to food products and crafts. I came to Gradačac to eat well because this is a food fair. I came to feed myself with optimism. You are noble, brave, kind, and it is a characteristic of your people. It is my great honor and pleasure to be able to open this highly important event for Gradačac, for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region,” said Inzko.
The FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić stressed that the fair has undergone many changes over the years and has been renamed the Agriculture and Food Industry Fair.
“The Government of the Federation of BiH is making the maximum efforts in the development of this sector and has invested about 70 million KM annually. The next step is to increase the amount that the government invests in agriculture. We have a problem with buying and placement of products. We need to support at least three areas - purchase, processing and cold storage,” said Prime Minister Novalić.
The International Fair of Agriculture and Food Industry in Gradačac is always an excellent reason to emphasize the importance of agriculture for the economy of our country, said the Director of the Gradačac Fair Hašim Šabanović.
“We placed the focus on dry plums and greenhouse production of vegetables and flowers. We will also award medals for quality products in the field of agriculture and food industry,” said Šabanović.
This year's 45th International Fair of Agriculture and Food Industry lasts until September 1.
