Opening the first press conference  on this year's Mediterranean Film Festival  (MFF), which will be held  from 23 to 26  August  in Siroki Brijeg, Director of the Festival, Tomislav Topic,  said that according to all parameters the Festival was on the second place in BiH.

He  reminded that this year films came from big festivals such as Berlin, Cannes, Venice, Amsterdam, Rotterdam ... and the Festival  would  feature 45 films.

The competition  program includes  12 feature-length documentaries that will compete for the Grand Prix-Jack Daniel's   MFF Projector and ten short-length documentaries that compete for the MFF Projector "Best Short". The best movie will  be selected by  the audience, and this movie  will get  the MFF Projector '' Audience Award ''.

 opic  underlined  that the film workshop within the MFF was one of the best quality workshops in BiH.

"Maybe you will not believe me if I say that the workshop budget exceeds the competition  budget. Our guests are  US lecturers who worked with 30 children from Herzegovina on two short films to be shown at the opening of the festival, "he said.

He added that movies made during the earlier MFF workshops had won prestigious awards.

'' Workshop makes sense, announces the name of the place and the festival   throughout the world , so we have young people who decide to study film art”,  Topic concluded.

MFF Producer, Robert Bubalo, pointed out  that HBO as  largest  TV house  in the world had recognized the festival while others had not.  

 Misiana Brkic Milinkovic, Corporate Communications Manager of HT ERONET, a company that  is a sponsor and partner of the Festival in Siroki Brijeg this year, expressed the pride that a small idea of ​​a group of enthusiasts had grown into a big project.

"The success of the MFF has become a matter of prestige in film-making circles," she added.

The Mediterranean Film Festival, has been supported, among others,  by  the US Embassy in BiH and the Office of the EU Special Representative in BiH.
