Historical site - Church of St. Mitre declared a national monument of BiH

Chairman of the Commission for Preservation of National Monuments of BiH, Radoje Vidović, and members Amir Pašić and Goran Milojević adopted at this week’s session a decision on the designation of the historic site – Church of St. Mitre with old graves in Ravno, a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The members of the Commission adopted amendments to the Decision on the designation of a cultural landscape – the memorial complex of “25th May” Museum in Drvar, a national monument of BiH, as well as the amendments relate to the inclusion of the site and remains of the Monument for the Victims of Fascism.
St. (Di)Mitre Martyrs and St. Evaristo pope Church in Ravno is located on the hill Bolat (Ravno community) since the middle ages. It was first mentioned in 1622, where it says it was blessed by St. Dimitro, and her existence and title are confirmed by other sources too. It is also referenced in the traditions that it was build 150 years before the Turks. In its surrounding you can find many tombstones.
