Mountaineering Club "Orlova stina" from Tomislavgrad is organizing a general mountaineering school that will allow students to gain knowledge and skills necessary for successful and safe hiking.

The president  Ante Vukadin says that the general mountaineering school is a basic form of hiking education in which the participants will gain knowledge of movement in the mountains, dangers in the mountains, first aid, and will get acquainted with the technical equipment .Completed mountaineering school is a condition for enrollment in school and courses for specialty mountaineering (rock-climbing, sports climbing, caving, guiding).

"The mountaineering school is intended for those who want to start hiking and do not have too much knowledge and experience, but also experienced hikers wanting to expand their knowledge and skills," says Vukadin.

Lecturers in the School will be experienced mountaineers, mountain rescuers and experts in caving, mountaineering, meteorology and orientation. The hiking school is divided into two parts: a theoretical part and a practical part with planned excursions and exercises on the mountains near Tomislavgrad.

Topics are specified by  Mountaineering Association of Herceg-Bosna on training hiking staff. After graduation students and after passing the exam, students will receive a diploma of the Mountaineering Association of Herceg-Bosna.

The basic preconditions for attending a hiking school are that student is minimum 16 years old (for juvenile attendants it is necessary to have a written consent of the parents) and good mental and physical health.
