TRADITIONAL BOSNIAN RECIPE: BEGOVA ČORBA (BEY’S SOUP)

Begova čorba is a thick creamy soup of made of vegetables in which chicken meat is cooked, and bamija gives a specific taste.

Preparation

Washed the meat with cold water and place it on a stove. Add cleaned vegetables and slowly cook. When the meat is cooked, remove it  from the heat. Separate the meat from the bone, return it to the stove. Cut the meat and vegetables to small cubes.

Cook rice separated form the meat and add it to the soup after it’s cooked. Soak bamija in hot water and when it soaks it up, add it to the soup. Soup is then cooked for a few more minutes, add lemon juice and salt as needed. After a few minutes, remove it from the heat.ž

Add sour cream and egg yolk. Any kind of meat can be used for this soup; veal, lamb, chicken or goat meatVeal can be put into the walnuts to put lamb, chicken or goat meat.
