VISIT: War Childhood Museum

The War Childhood Museum opened in Sarajevo in January 2017. The Museum‘s collection contains a number of personal belongings, stories, audio and video testimonies, photographs, letters, drawings and other documents offering valuable insight into the unique experience of growing up in wartime.

War Childhood Museum will host a permanent exhibition of artifacts accompanied by their owners’ personal stories. In addition, the Museum will also organize, on a regular basis, different thematic displays offering its visitors a possibility to get closer insight into specific aspects of the experience of growing up in wartime. A number of displays will also travel to other museums and galleries throughout the world.

The War Childhood Museum is located at Logavina 32. Working hours are Monday to Sunday: 9:00am – 8:00pm. Admission to the Museum is free the last Thursday of each month, between 9am-11am. The Museum is fully accessible to visitors using wheelchairs and other mobility devices as well as to the visually impaired.

  • Students in the announced school visits: 2 KM
  • Children between 6 and 17 years : 5 KM
  • Students: 8 KM
  • Blind and visually impaired: 2 KM
  • Adults: 10 KM
  • Family ticket: 25 KM

 

Note: Entrance to the Museum is free of charge every last Thursday in the month, from 11 am to 1 pm.
