The “Mak Dizdar” Foundation organized today in Sarajevo a ceremony on the occasion of the completion of the project of marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mak Dizdar, under the title “Mak Dizdar: the First Hundred Years”.
President of the Organizing Committee, Gorčin Dizdar, said that this anniversary was successfully celebrated in the countries of the region, as well as in Norway and Indonesia.
He believes that with this manifestation brought the character and work of Mak Dizdar back to the eye of the public.
“We all know about Mak Dizdar, but new, unknown details have been discovered through the exhibition. We also presented the re-release of the "Stone Sleeper" in its original form, but in the long run, I think that the most significant was a scientific conference where more than 50 exhibitors presented new views on the work of Mak Dizdar and this year a book will be published with the most important essays from the conference,” Mr. Dizdar pointed out.
The marking of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mak Dizdar, which was marked by various programs during the entire past year, was organized in cooperation with the Museum of Literature and Theater Art of BiH, the Bosniak Institute and the Writers' Association of BiH.
