Sarajevo has a long list of good and high quality dining. Even the traditional ‘pita buregdzenica’ places offer very inexpensive, traditional flavours.

The most popular and numerous restaurants in town are traditional and Italian. Traditional restaurants offer excellent menu’s of Bosnian meals including; sarma, begova corba (chicken stew), teletina (veal), filled peppers, sitni cevap (veal stew) just to name a few. There are growing variations of restaurants sprouting up around town, including Chinese, Indian, Continental, Dalmatian, and quite a few excellent restaurants specializing in fresh and saltwater fish dishes. The local trout, pastrmka, is always a good buy. Service in Sarajevo is usually quite good and tipping is normal, but not required. An average sit down meal with drinks generally ranges from 6-12 euros. The pita places are very inexpensive lunch stops and range from 1-3 euro
